Dot Co verse Dot Com

dot comI only use .com, .net, and .org.. why? Because they are the easiest to rank in google organically. But some seo guru’s say that the .co will be another good choice and just as easy to rank. I myself have seen a .co on the first page ranking right along with other .com’s in the real estate niche.

So I have been contemplating on getting a few .co’s for some affiliate sites since all of the keyword rich .com’s are already taken. I came across a site that had a similar curiosity about .co’s and so they did a simple test. back in July 2011, they registered two domains: Read more »

Connect Access to MySql

connect access to mysqlI covered this a little while ago, but it was directed at vista and Access 2003. Now with Windows 7 it seems it has gotten much easier to use ODBC to connect microsoft access to your mysql databases. I needed to set up a connection for a new project I was doing today, so I figured I will break it down real quick for anyone needing to know how to set it up.

Step 1 – Set up your Database

If the database does not exist, well then obviously create one. Log into your hosts cPanel or whatever your host uses; Set the ‘host’ to ‘%’ (minus the quotes); Create the username and password. If the database already exists then go on to the next step.

B. Scott Site Finished

B Scott Logo
Multi-tasking… It would be Ok if it was just 3 or 4 projects, but trying to multitask 45 projects is insane. lol. Well I finally finished one of them… I was to build a blog site for a guy who is an internet personality. I’ve never heard of him, but apparantly he’s pretty damn popular. He has 31,500+ facebook likes to his fanpage; He has had a radio show on Jamie Fox Sirrus station; he has interviews with Mariah Carey, Tyra Banks, and other celebrities; He has hundreds of thousands of views to most of his Youtube videos; a wikipedia page; and Rihanna just retweeted his tweet!!! I’m mad… Rihanna hasn’t retweeted my tweets. lol.

No EMD – Using a Stop Word Part 2

Part 2… Ok well I crearted the site today – Nothing fancy, just a real basic site. My comp is a ‘dot gov’ site and cbs news, so I think the site looks good for what it is suppossed to be.

My friend is a registered dietetic technician and she wrote the first two articles for me. She is also writing the ebook that I am targeting for the site. We have a nice partnership: She writes the content and ebook; I build the site and rank it; We split the profits… This works for me because I hate writing content. Yes, hate is a strong word, and I HATE writing content. :)

No EMD – Using a Stop Word

I’m nice at ranking ‘Exact Match Domains’ (EMD’s) very quickly (conceitedly pat myself on the back – lol jk), but while researching keywords for a friends site, we stumbled onto a micro niche that had a specific keyword phrase that had thousands of searches, but weak competition. The below snapshot is taken from googles’ free keyword tool. The results are for broad and exact search results, respectively.
